About: North Nazimabad enjoys the reputation of being the most literate town of the country, as out of its 700,000 population more than 90 percent are educated and compared with other towns of Karachi it is well developed.

life like parks, post office, marriage clubs & venues, hospitals & both customer
care ( private / governmental ) offices. The North Nazimabad Town concerned
authorities try their best to keep the town clean. For the proper flow of
traffic, broadened streets are provided.
History: Nazimabad ( Urdu: ناظم آباد ) is a suburb of Karachi, which was developed in early 1950s to settle Muslim refugees in Pakistan. This suburb was named after Khawaja Nazimuddin, who was the second Governor-General of Pakistan, and later the second Prime Minister of Pakistan as well. In late 1950s, the northern extension of Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, was developed as a residential area for federal government employees. But in early 1960s the capital of Pakistan was transferred from Karachi to newly developed capital Islamabad.

More Info: The population of Nazimabad and North Nazimabad is estimated
to be over one million in 2005. Over 95% of population speaks Urdu and English
as well. Over 99% population is Muslim. The town is largely inhabited by
Urdu-speaking people besides it also has a sizable number of people from other
linguistic groups, including Bohris, Punjabis Gujratis, Memons, Ghanchis,
Balochis and Sindhis.
The Karachi municipality was divided was into 18 zones or towns in 2000. North
Nazimabad is one of the towns. The population of North Nazimabad town is nearly
one million. The neighborhoods or localities of the North Nazimabad town are:
Paposh Nagar, North Nazimabad, Pahar Ganj, Khandu Goth, Hyderi, Sakhi Hassan,
Farooq-e-Azam, Shadman Town, Buffer Zone and Buffer Zone-I.
As
described above that in the early Sixties when Karachi was the capital of
Pakistan, North Nazimabad was initially selected for the establishment of
offices and residential area for federal government employees. On account of
these two factors it is ranked as the most-planned town of Karachi. All
thoroughfares and service roads of the town are designed in such a way that they
allow movement of large volume of traffic without any interruption. Almost all
roads are broad and running along them are parallel service roads that are also
wide due to which in case of emergency or accident no traffic clogging is
witnessed.
